These delightful little Worry Dolls are the perfect bedtime companion to share your pillow and your troubles with.

Worry Dolls (also named trouble dolls) are hand made dolls that originate from the highland indigenous people of Guatemala. In the dolls original Guatemalan tradition, a local legend refers to a Maya Princess named Ixmucane. The Princess recieved a special gift from the sun god which would allow her to solve any problem a human could worry about. In traditional and modern times, worry dolls are given or lent to brooding, anxious or sorrowful children. They would tell their doll about their sorrows, fears and worries, then hide the doll under their pillow before going to sleep at night. It is said that the child relinquishes their worries to the dolls during the night and by the next morning, all sorrows are said to have been taken away by the worry doll and they can move forward refreshed the next day. You can change your worry doll as often as you'd like but if you need to get rid of a worry doll, you'll need to give it a proper burial as it is considered bad luck to give a worry doll to others or throw them away.

These cuties can also be used for adults and we have created our worry dolls in our own unique Salem's Shack design. Each one measures approximately 5/6cm, however each worry doll has been hand crafted, therefore no two will ever be exactly the same. They have been bound with coloured wool and come presented in a cute little drawstring bag, along with a cool Salem's Shack description card.

Please note that this is NOT a toy! This DOES contain very small parts and should be kept out of reach of small children and pets/familiars as these could become choking hazards. Although our worry dolls have been created with the purest intent it is never recommended that they replace professional medical advice.

May your days and nights be filled with magic...

Blessed be! 🖤🐈‍⬛
